Ostrich steak has a dark red colour, a medium texture and a unique flavour. For easy preparation this steak is packaged in 230g portions, making it ready to be fried in a pan for a delicious meal.
For a tasty marinade, mix olive oil, brandy, thyme, oregano, garlic, salt and pepper. Coat the steak in the marinade and chill in the fridge for 4 to 12 hours. Add the steak to a pre-heated pan and cook. Set aside for a few minutes after cooking – this will allow its juices to settle. Keep in mind that the steak will continue cooking after you have taken it out of the pan, so take care not to overcook.
